Kaden is the 11 year old son of boat club members Caitlin and Kristopher Lee, and grandson of Carol Murray. For over a year he saved his money and was able to purchase an 10 foot fishing kayak. He spent a week with Carol in July and set out one early morning in this kayak. Soon Carol heard him yelling and she rushed down to the dock to see him holding this 22", 8 pound large mouth bass with a 15 1/2" girth. According to the DEC data, the fish is estimated to be the same age as Kaden. He said it was a struggle to land in his kayak and then hold it while paddling back to shore. With fierce determination, he made it. While Carol was thinking "fish fry tonight", his parents and everyone else encouraged him to freeze it for future mounting. AND - in true fisherman style - when Carol asked him where he caught it, Kaden's response was " in the water ".
